January 2023

Hello, here we are in January 2023. It seems as though there’s not much to show, gigs are quiet and personal matters are being attended too. It very much is a perfect time for working under the bonnet/hood and getting on with some housekeeping. This website is a perfect example. Hello, things that are on the horizon and on my mind are mainly that Phil and I are doing a full-length Songbox Band gig in a pub called the Sir Charles Napier in Brighton. Most of our gigs over the last 18 months have been around the 45 minute mark either online or in the flesh and a full-length to ask means two sets of 45 minutes. Paul from Church road studios has been instrumental in rehabilitating the lost recordings from five years before made at Ben Browns studio. Ben and I had recorded my first proper album and all had gone swimmingly until the studio’s main machine burned out and the project was momentarily put on hold. Though the hard drive was rescued from the old machine, it went missing and disappeared from view for a frustrating four years.

Hard drive and I have now been re-united , files have been rescued and I have the songs back and I am emotional. Not only have several hundred hours of hard work  been returned, the songs, some of which I’d not heard since recording, sound every bit as good as I’d remembered.
