.. a short bio..
I have been quietly chipping away at my songwriting over the last 20 years whilst labouring and bringing up a family. Although I’ve played many many live shows of my own material, most my recordings have been made at home and, until recently, sounded like it and have remained unreleased.
During the first COVID-19 lockdown (March-Aug 2020), I recorded at home in the evenings, compiling an albums worth of material which is more a more acoustic in nature and feel. This album is scheduled for release in April 2024!
The last 4 years have seen me hooking up with Phil Macnamara, bass-player, vocalist and kindred spirit, and and we have played live around the south coast and London as Songbox Band. Phil and I have worked on the home recordings remotely with Phil supplying bass, harmony parts and encouragement.
In 2017, I recorded an electric album that disappeared before it could be mixed. This has now come back into my possession and will be released in due course.
I’m currently based in Brighton a town on the South Coast of the UK. I’ve been here for the last 20 years and I’m still digging it.Loads of musicians and artists here, it’s a friendly forward looking place.
I played my first gig in ‘86 with first band Waterfront and spent the years 1988-2000 as the bass player in Stone Cold- a prog/psych UK rock band.
I was turned onto rock’n’roll in my early teens just at the point I started teaching myself the guitar. I loved Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry (still do) and, once I saw the film, I felt spiritually connected Woodstock ‘69 and it’s attending vibe. Still do (kinda).
