In the Briny.
Title track of my new album and centrepiece song. This song has been in my live set for pretty much every performance since the day I wrote it. It is one of those songs that just breezed into my life with seemingly no effort. Whether I play as a solo or with Songbox it is always the closing track of the night and I always enjoy it the reaction it gets. Anyone who has been to one of my gigs will have heard its background story of my near drowning experience some years ago and it is funny, to have to remember that event on every gig night as I retell the events.
The title “In The Briny”seemed an apt choice for the title of the whole album as the songs are all linked with water/sea/maritime themes. I never tire of playing it and I hope to be performing it for many years to come.
